Welcome to 2009!!

Its now official that 2009 is here with us, a new year with expectations and challenges.Nairobits on the other hand has continued to positively impact the lives of many youths in Kenya, through its programs in ICT. On 13th january the first group of 30 students started the 1st phase in the ICT course.Some of the students shared their expectations with us, read on;

Phillip Roy, “I was very happy.Am determined to work hard, so that i may get to media lab”.

Esther Muthoni“I am grateful for having been given this chance among many,
i was happy.My ambition is to focus in my work and eventually ssucceed to the next level”

Well we wish them all the best and a nice time in Nairobits.

Welcome to the medialab world, we are glad to introduce you to the 2009 class.It has not been an easy road for them but all the same they are glad to be among the selected few.

We have some medialabbers who had this to say

Kevin Orua, said “ Am here because of my commitment and hard work , my expectation is to become a competent web designer and secure a good job in this developing world”.

Laura Achieng, “After the 6 month i want to become a professional web designer and secure a job so that i can help my siblings”

Are you ready?

This is the question that goes through the minds of trainers,former medialab, and the current medialab, and to answer this questions they are willing to dedicate most of their time to learn new ideas because to one person the world is desolate , dull and empty; to another the same world looks rich, interesting and full of meaning. “Eyes that look are common while eyes that see are rare,and how we position ourselves to receive makes all the difference and its why Media lab students have agreed to take web design lessons to a different path by making a website per group every fortnight.
